We really enjoyed our stay at the Saint
Nicholas Inn. First of all, the innkeepers are very nice, always ready
to help us when we needed them (by the way, thanks again for
everything!) About the accommodation, our two beds room (the green one)
was comfortable and clean, far bigger than a standard hotel room and
equipped with A/C, alarm clock and satellite TV. A phone is available
for local calls in the public area which is very useful. We shared the
bathroom with several other guests but we didnt have to wait much in the
morning to use it (although all rooms werent booked and some days we
were the only ones to use it). Breakfast was very tasty and varied
(croissant, bagels, muffins depending on the day). The inn is well
located : the neighborhood is quiet and C train entry is a few steps
away from the house. The subway line 1 is not far either. Saint Nicholas
Inn is a place we highly recommend and if we have the chance to come
back in New York someday, we probably choose it again!

Our stay at the Saint Nicholas Inn was great! When we arrived via
subway with all of luggage we were happy to find that it was only steps
away from the subway. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and we felt very
safe. We were greeted by the Inn Keeper upon our late night arrival.
The room offered A/C, satellite, and high speed internet, a definite
plus! The Inn offered brochures and info on places and getting around in
NYC. The suite offered a clear view of Yankees stadium. The staff went
out of their way to assure we were comfortable and had everything we
needed. They definitely made us feel at home. Much better than any hotel
stay. We over slept and missed breakfast our first morning there but
the staff assured we didnt miss breakfast the second day by bringing it
directly to our room. After receiving our breakfast we were upset that
we missed it the first day because it was delicious and far exceeded our
expectations. Upon checkout they assured we enjoyed our stay at both
the Inn and in NYC. We will definitely keep Saint Nicholas Inn in mind
when we return to NYC. Thanks Sharon and Lawrence!!!

Situated in Uptown New York. Very close to subway and bus stops.
Easy travel into the City. Helpful advice from the Innkeeper. Broadband
linked and airconditioned. House is old but well kept. We enjoyed our
stay. Even able to park our car right outside the front door.

St Nicholas was a thoroughly wonderful experience. The staff was
quite attentive to our needs and very helpful. Closeness to public
transport -bus and subway an added bonus since it is located in Upper
Manhattan. kitchen not well organized for breakfast for the number of
guests and served a little late but good variety.

I was referred to the St. Nicholas Inn by a close friend. I was
looking for someplace in Manhattan that didnt cost an arm and a leg.
This B&B was just what I was looking for. It was very inexpensive
compared to other venues. The place was neat and the room was great. The
innkeeper Sharon was very accommodating and thoughtful. She worked with
me to get me checked in and even bought a champagne bucket at my
request, as I was celebrating my fiancees birthday. This place was an
ideal home away from home. I highly recommend the suite.

Room was clean and location was very close to subway A/C lines.
Shared bath and powder room worked well because they are seperated and
only shared by 2 rooms. Neighborhood was safe (by New York standards).
Room was very large and beds were comfortable. Cable TV was nice to keep
up on news. Staff very helpful and courteous and really shows pride in
their small property. Breakfast looked good but we ate at Amy Ruths in
Harlem since its my vacation and I want to do something special. Front
bedroom was noisy on saturday night but fine on Sunday. Ask for a fan to
drown out the street noise. No air conditioning, but it wasnt that hot
yet (I didnt ask if they have a unit for summer time). Its not the
Marriott Marquis but for $140/night you get a huge room that is clean
and convenient with a friendly staff.

Very lovely and friendly innkeeper, Sharon was very helpful. Easy access to downtown, really only steps away from the subway.

Old 3 story house undergoing renovation (no problem for guests).
The bed of our large room was very comfortable. We could have used a
mirror in the room. Shared bathroom and "powder room" are fine. The
kitchen is small : crowded with 3 people having breakfast at the same
time. Sharon is great, ready to help at anytime. Bus 13 (nice route) and
subway A & C lines going downtown (30 to 40 min to 42th street) are
meters away. St Nicholas avenue seems safe. We had a great stay in NYC.

I stayed at the St.Nicholas Inn while attending a medical meeting
at Columbia Presbytarian Medical Center (13 blocks or 2 subway stops
away- making it very convenient). Sharon, the innkeeper was very
accomodating. She met me at the door, was always available, and went out
of her way with allowing a late check out due to a late flight out of
NYC. The large room on the 3rd. floor was newly renovated and very clean
and appealing. The commons areas hall, bath, etc is in the process of
renovation currently but usable. The neighborhood was extremely quiet at
night, 1/2 block from the subway, and never threatening. You must
travel however for restaurants, shopping, etc.- minutes to the Upper
West Side. However, Yankee Stadium is indeed plainly visible out the
front window, and supposedly a rather short walk. All in all, a great
value, clean, and comfortable!
